Behind the Scenes

Here is a short vlog that me and my group did during our first scene. I edited the vlog and shaun filmed it. We shot this vlog to give a better understanding of what happens behind the scenes in real life as a video speaks more than a picture does. We also had a lot of fun filming this small vlog. I played around with the effects and voice on the vlog to give me more practice and a better understanding of Imovie. Everything on here was filmed on an Iphone 7 and edited on Imovie. Hope you enjoy!

In our final scene in G-house, we added a shot in which was not in our shooting script, it was Huw walking in the front door at G-house, we did this because we felt the establishing shot of G-house we had finished with in the previous scene naturally lead to this shot.We also took out the shot of Huw’s feet walking into the office as we felt there would have been to many changes of shot/angle in this scene with it in.

When we filmed on the silent walk we followed our shooting script for some of the shots, but also found that some didn’t work because of lighting issues, or that other shots may be better or would suit our film. For example, the tracking shot that follows Huw along the path and then pans to reveal G-House was not originally in the shooting script but we added it because it looked better than what we had originally suggested.

Filming

Katie, Shauimg_1157n and I have been going out and filming for our final 2 minutes opening scene. We have been following our shooting script and we are img_1159filming in direct locations that we spoke about in previous blog posts. I was the camera man and director throughout this process, Shaun Edited the movie and Katie designed all the costumes and was the make up designer. We filmed in two different slots, we filmed on a Sunday for the first scene and then filmed the last two scenes on the following Wednesday. Everything was filmed on my Iphone 7 and we used a tripod to keep the shots nice img_1356and still. We also booked out a smokeimg_1358 machine and two LED lights to give us good lighting and a nice film noir mood. Our actors were exceptionally good and managed to work with the times we were free. Here are some pictures of me and my team on set during the filming process.
